parkrun is a free weekly timed 5k event held each Saturday across the country. The Inverness event is held in Bught Park, Inverness opposite the Ice Rink car park. The Alness Parkrun is held at Crawl Park and both events start at 9.30 sharp.
If you have not already registered, simply click on parkrun and follow the instructions on the website to register instantly. This must be done before 6 pm on the Friday prior to taking part. You only need to register once to get your personalised bar code which you should print off and then you are able to take part any Saturday. Your bar code is all you need to bring with you and this also entitles you to take part in any of the hundreds of other parkrun events taking place every Saturday all over the UK and internationally. Full details are shown on the website.
When you register, we are listed in the club list dropdown so please select Muir of Ord jogscotland so that each of your runs can be recorded against our club. You will also be able to select whether to receive the weekly parkrun newsletter and if you provide your mobile phone number, you will automatically receive a text during the Saturday with your event time as soon as it has been uploaded.
The weekly event is not a race and is suitable for all abilities, fast or slow, young or old, adults, kids (any age but under 11’s must be supervised). It is always a very relaxed and friendly atmosphere. After the event, if you have time there is optional coffee and a chat for both events and their locations are mentioned during the pre-run briefing. Come and try it soon – it’s great training.
The Highlands have a wealth of running events through the year organised by the many running clubs here, a full list of these can be found on the Run ABC website by clicking this link here.
Didn’t know about WordPress but the link worked perfectly and I was able to access the information.
